WAKEFIELD skipper Danny Kirmond is relishing tomorrow's do-or-die clash with the Bulls after recovering from a shoulder injury.

Kirmond returned from a three-month lay-off in the 24-10 defeat at Sheffield on Sunday and could now start against Bradford in the Million Pound Game.

The highly-regarded second-rower said: "The stakes are massive and Wakefield have not had a game this big for a very long time, so it's imperative that we are successful.

"It certainly puts every other game which has gone before into insignificance.

"The most important thing is that it's a one-off match and you know you've got to produce your best game.

"We're fully prepared for Bradford's best game and we know a lot about them because they are full of experienced Super League players.

"I've played with Fergie (Dale Ferguson) at Wakefield and Huddersfield and we would travel together, so I know him quite well.

"We're going to make sure that we produce our best football as well.

"When your backs are against the wall, that's often when you produce your best – especially if they are the kind of people who deal with pressure well.

"We've got a lot of people in our squad like that; experienced guys such as Ali Lauitiiti, who has played in a lot of big games in Australia and over here as well. We're well prepared."

Wakefield will be significantly weakened from the side which thumped the Bulls in the Super 8s Qualifiers, with Tim Smith having been sacked and key prop Scott Anderson sidelined through injury.

Kevin Locke was also shown the door this week but Kirmond said: "Obviously it's disappointing but the people who have come in have done a good job.

"Jacob Miller has been awesome all year and the games he has played without Tim have probably been his better ones. He's come to the fore a lot more and taken more responsibility on his shoulders.

"Although it is a negative that we are missing players, ultimately the guys who are here now are all pulling together and that's the most important thing.

"It's a tough game to call but we're going into it with confidence and excitement. As long as we perform to our best, then I think we've got a great chance of winning the game."
