STEVE Ferres reckons fan power can help inspire the Bulls to a potentially priceless victory at Wakefield today.

The travelling Bradford army have been a feature of this season's campaign and helped many clubs to enjoy their biggest crowds for years.

Managing director Ferres is hoping that as many as 2,000 supporters make the short trip to Belle Vue to cheer on Jimmy Lowes' troops.

Although the match is being televised live, Ferres urged Bulls followers to turn out in force for the crunch clash.

"Our fans have been fantastic this season but we need them more than ever at Wakefield," he said.

"I know the Wildcats got tremendous support at Salford last weekend, so they are going to have that same vociferous backing.

"But I'd like our supporters to out-enthuse the Wakefield fans, like we want to out-do the team on the field.

"It would be great if we could have the kind of support we had at the Summer Bash and when we went to places like Leigh, Batley and Halifax.

"We've sold over 600 tickets this week but of course supporters can pay on the day.

"If it wasn't on television, I'd have said we would definitely take 2,000 – but I'm hoping we can still take that number regardless.

"I don't think the supporters actually know how much of an impact it is having that extra backing; the 18th man.

"We would like to equal Wakefield's numbers off the pitch and more than match them on it."

Ferres is cautiously optimistic about the Bulls' hope of making an immediate return to Super League.

Victory today would put them in an outstanding position and Ferres said: "We are taking one game at a time and each one will become our most important of the season.

"I think Widnes, Salford and Hull KR will all win this weekend. They will be confident and if they do win then the pressure is starting to build.

"I know we are only one game in, but at present a Super League club hasn't been beaten by a Championship club.

"For this to work and for us to get to where we need to be, we've got to turn over more than one of those Super League teams – and at least two, in my opinion."
