KARL Harrison has confirmed he would like to stay on as Jimmy Lowes’ right-hand man beyond this season.

The former Keighley, Salford, Batley and Halifax boss – nicknamed Rhino – returned to Bradford for a second spell as assistant coach last October.

He penned a one-year deal but has thoroughly enjoyed his time back at Odsal after more than a decade away and is keen to continue in the role.

Harrison said: “I’ve enjoyed being back in the full-time environment with a really good bunch of blokes and backroom team.

“Things have gone reasonably well and a lot of things have been a learning curve, with the Bulls having dropped out of Super League and now building for the Super 8s.

“Even though performances haven’t always been top notch, we have played well for pretty much most of the season.

“We had a blip against Featherstone recently but in the main the team has done well and we’ve had a really positive season.

“It was a new squad for Jimmy in the off-season with 15 new players coming in but I think he’s done a marvellous job, to be honest.

“Obviously I need to know what’s happening and I would certainly like to stay involved going forward.”

Harrison holds the club close to his heart and wants to play his part in helping the Bulls back into the top flight at the first attempt.

The boyhood Bradford Northern fan from Drighlington added: “Promotion is the aim for the club and the board, so every Bradford supporter wants to see that.

“I’m sure a lot of Super League fans around the country want to see that as well, but you’ve got to earn that right.

“We’ve made no big statements from day one and have gone quietly about our business to get enough points to give us a chance of doing what we need to do.”

Harrison's son James, a promising young forward, has enjoyed a fine season playing for the Bulls Academy side.

Harrison junior combines playing with his academic commitments at the University of Huddersfield, where he is studying journalism.

Matt Diskin's Under-19s last night claimed an impressive 30-14 win over Huddersfield Giants.

Meanwhile, the Bulls are aiming to add to their squad for the Super 8s ahead of today’s transfer deadline.

Etu Uaisele will spend the rest of the season on loan at Dewsbury after falling down the pecking order following the arrival of James Clare and Omari Caro.

The 30-year-old winger scored nine tries in 16 appearances for the Bulls and could make his debut for Dewsbury in Sunday’s derby at home to Heavy Woollen rivals Batley.

Uaisele said: “I’m looking for an opportunity to play and showcase my skills and I think this move to Dewsbury will help me to do that."

The Tongan joins Samir Tahraoui (Keighley), Adam Brook (Keighley), Nathan Conroy (Dewsbury), Chris Ulugia (Batley) in spending the rest of the season out on loan.

Dave Petersen, who has been on loan at Sheffield, has now joined the Eagles on a permanent deal until the end of the season.
