BULLS head coach Jimmy Lowes has added Castleford winger James Clare and former Wakefield player Matt Ryan to his promotion-chasing squad.

Clare has fallen down the pecking order at Wheldon Road and recently enjoyed a successful spell on dual-reg playing for York City Knights.

He scored nine tries in seven appearances and has now accepted the opportunity to join the Bulls until the end of next season.

Australian centre Ryan was released by Wakefield earlier this week and both players will turn out for Bradford in the promotion-deciding Super 8s over the next two months.

Lowes said: “It’s important going into the Super 8s that we have extra Super League experience.

“You want that competition for places and they certainly should lift what we do in training.”

Clare looks certain to make his debut in Sunday’s final-round trip to derby rivals Halifax but Ryan, a back-rower or centre, is not expected to receive his visa clearance in time.

Meanwhile, the Bulls say Lee Gaskell, Jake Mullaney and Harry Siejka are all back in full training and will be back in contention for the start of the Super 8s.

Lowes, meanwhile, Lowes has been fined £250 for his criticism of referee Chris Leatherbarrow following the recent defeat at Sheffield.

The suspended fine of £250 imposed upon the Bulls boss earlier this season for a similar offence has now been invoked in full.

Lowes has also been warned as to his future behaviour.
