JIMMY Lowes faces an anxious wait to discover the seriousness of Harry Siejka’s ankle injury after he hobbled off in the tenth minute of yesterday’s 28-2 home win over London.

Adrian Purtell was also replaced with a knock during the first half and Lee Gaskell looked in some discomfort with a shoulder injury at the final whistle.

Head coach Lowes said: “Harry has done something to his ankle and we’ll assess it in the next 24 hours.

“We’ll see what happens when it settles down and, again, we will see how Adrian Purtell is.

“He got a bang and that’s all I’m going to say at the moment because I don’t want to give any information to anybody so they can target him wherever he has been banged.”

Lowes praised his side’s defensive efforts as they defended their line to keep the Broncos at bay.

He added: “Apart from the penalties we conceded, I thought we handled the conditions well and ran out deserved winners.

“Alex Mellor made a fantastic tackle in the first half and that kind of attitude in defence is what we’ll need against Hull KR on Sunday.”

Jake Mullaney is set to return for Sunday’s Challenge Cup tie and has played scrum half already this season.

But Danny Addy performed admirably there yesterday and Lowes added: “I think he's a great rugby player.

“He can slot into any position, he’s a tough, smart player and I hate to say it but if any NRL clubs are looking, he’d be the next one on the list.”

Meanwhile, Dave Petersen, Nathan Conroy and Adam Brook all played for Oxford yesterday in their 44-20 home defeat against York.

Conroy scored a try but Brook got sinbinned for fighting.
