HARRY Siejka has vowed to win over the haters after copping some early-season flak on Twitter.

The close-season signing from Wakefield endured a nightmare start to his Bulls career after being sin-binned twice during the opening-day defeat to Leigh.

That earned him a two-match ban but head coach Jimmy Lowes immediately restored him to the side and has stayed there since, helping Bradford embark on an eight-match winning run.

Siejka believes he is answering his critics with his performances on the pitch and is confident his partnership with Lee Gaskell is developing nicely.

While Gaskell has grabbed many of the headlines for his stellar early-season form, Siejka is satisfied he is doing everything that Lowes asks of him.

The 23-year-old Aussie said: “You cop for a bit on Twitter after a match but most of the people who give you a hammering don’t really look at the whole game.

“They say ‘he’s scored three tries’ or ‘he did that’ but they don’t look at the full 80 minutes. That’s fine, they can have their opinion, but at the end of the day I’m doing the job that Jimmy has given to me.

“Obviously I can be better but it’s still early doors. The more time Gasky and I have together, the better combination I think we’ll have for the Super Eights.

“If I can get the forwards rolling forward and give Gasky enough space out wide to do his thing then it’s job done for me.”

Siejka is enjoying playing alongside Gaskell and reckons the former St Helens man could comfortably hold his own in the NRL.

Gaskell has looked a cut above the Championship for much of this season and Siejka said: “I reckon Gasky could do a job for any NRL team, I really do.

“I know this is the Championship but Liam Finn came from the Championship and is doing a good job for Castleford in Super League.

“I think Gasky is head and shoulders above him, so I reckon he could do a job for any NRL team, 100 per cent.

“He’s one of the freakiest players I’ve ever played with and everything he touches turns to gold.

“He’s great to play with and he makes my job a lot easier.

“He’s sort of player who you can give the ball to and he will make something happen out of nothing.

“It’s my job to look after him and get him some space. Like I said, if I can do that then it’s job done.”

Siejka is hoping the Bulls can claim a ninth straight win at home to London Broncos on Sunday ahead of the Challenge Cup tie against Hull KR seven days later.

Siejka combined well with Gaskell against Dewsbury on Easter Monday and showed he is not afraid of the physical side of the game either.

Siejka got stuck into Dewsbury’s powerhouse prop Makali Aizue and he said: “It was tough backing up from the Good Friday win over Halifax, so to get two points away from home was pretty pleasing.

“He’s a big boy, Makali Aizue, and he’s got a head like a coconut!

“But our forwards were doing it tough and our backs helped out, which was good.

“It’s another tough one this weekend but I think it will put us in good stead for the Hull KR game in the Challenge Cup, which is one we’re looking forward to.

“If we keep working on what we’ve been doing we should be fine.”

Jake Mullaney missed the Easter weekend with a slight hamstring strain but should be available to face London.

He said: “It was just a grade one injury and, while it was disappointing to miss the Easter programme, I’m reasonably confident I’ll be passed fit to play this weekend.”
