FROM a personal perspective, it was disappointing to miss last weekend's game against Hunslet with a hamstring injury.

I did it on the Saturday before the game and I wasn't really sure about it on the Sunday, so I told the physios and Jimmy.

I didn't want to risk it and was due to be available for this weekend's trip to Batley – but then I felt my other hamstring in training on Wednesday.

There are a few boys with hamstring problems at the moment and I think it's best that I don't push it this week either. It's frustrating, because I just want to get out there and play, but hopefully I will be fit for next week.

It's important that I get myself right and the great thing about our squad is that, if someone is injured, another player is ready to come in and take their spot and do an equally good job.

I think people being out injured is a good opportunity for other guys to come in and show what they can do. At the same time, this means we don't have to rush injured players back.

We are well blessed in most positions and last week Adam Henry came back into the side and did a good job. In the wing spots, you have got Adam, Chris Ulugia, Danny Williams and myself.

If you lose your place, you have to work hard to get back in and it's like that across the team.

I won't have any dramas if I don't get my spot back straight away and I'll just work hard to get back in. Injuries and suspension occur and that's part of rugby – but we're still winning games.

In our two games at Odsal, we have won comfortably and showed that no-one will come to our ground and have an easy ride. We want that to continue and we will be looking to build on our recent win at Featherstone when we travel to Batley this weekend.

I had a tough game against Batley for Sheffield in the play-offs last season, when it was scoreless for 65 minutes. Then we made the breakthrough, I managed to get a try and we won 16-0.

Let's hope for another win over the Bulldogs this weekend – only this time for the Bradford Bulls.
