ODSAL will again host a ‘Silent Night Carols’ event during the festive period on Wednesday, December 10 from 7pm.

Entrance costs £2.50 and tickets can be bought from the stadium or by calling 08448-711490.

The evening has been designed to mark the centenary of World War One's 1914 Christmas truce.

Unofficial ceasefires took place along the Western Front as enemy soldiers exchanged gifts and held conversations over the Christmas period.

In conjunction with Hope Together and Sports Chaplaincy UK, the Bradford Bulls Foundation are planning to celebrate 100 years since the famous truce.

'Silent Night Carols' will feature an array of local and school choirs, including the West Yorkshire Police Band, Great Horton Theatre Company, and the Black Gospel Choir.

There will also be a re-enactment of the Christmas Story delivered by local school children.

Bulls Foundation general manager Mark Winder said: “The event will provide an opportunity to bring the community together.

“We have some key figures in Bradford delivering the readings and we are hoping for as many people as possible to join us.”

Club chaplain and Foundation trustee Warren Evans added: “We are delighted to be able to organise this festive event for the community.

“This year we will use the event to mark the centenary of the World War One truce.

“Last year, the event proved a huge success and we are hoping this year even more people will attend.”

Those in attendance will be able to purchase festive food and drink from a Christmas market stall.
