KARL Harrison admits new Bulls props Samir Tahraoui and Karl Davies will need time to adapt to the rigours of a full-time professional environment.

The rookie duo are adjusting to the transition from playing their rugby on a part-time basis to training every day with Jimmy Lowes’ side.

Assistant coach Harrison says the Bulls will work closely with the pair throughout pre-season to get them up to speed for next year’s crucial Championship campaign.

The former Great Britain prop said: “There is a lot of work to do with Samir and Karl, who have not been in a professional environment before.

“They are trying ever so hard but we are just reinforcing the fact that big guys have to work harder than anybody else because they’ve got the toughest job on the field.

“Front-rowers can’t afford to make mistakes, especially when they are fatigued, so we’ve just got to work them really hard.

“Things will progress as we get closer to the start of the season when there will be more technical stuff.

“We’ve got a couple of pretty robust people in Paul Clough and Adam Sidlow who can do big minutes but we’ll work hard to ensure everyone is ready.

“We’ve got a lot of exciting players and a lot of youth too, so it’s very encouraging.

“There is a lot of freshness and confidence, so the squad is balanced at the moment and it’s a good place to be.”
