HARRY Siejka reckons the Bulls' pre-season programme will leave them "miles ahead" of most Championship teams next year.

The close-season signing from Wakefield is gearing up for a big campaign as he seeks to provide the creativity in Jimmy Lowes' new-look side.

Siejka is encouraged by how things are shaping up after the Bulls – one of only three full-time sides in the second tier – returned to training last month.

"I think what we have been doing in pre-season so far will put us miles ahead of most Championship teams," said the Australian recruit.

"It's that second step that is the key – the Super Eight play-offs – but I'm confident we can negotiate that too.

"It's a great squad on paper and we just need to put it together now.

"The biggest thing with our squad is the numbers we've got and the depth. Touch wood, if anyone has an injury, then we have someone else to fill in.

"I think our depth is really good and it's going to be a long year, so you need that and it will put us in good stead for the back end of the season."

Siejka was greeted by a number of familiar faces when he landed at Odsal last month.

The Aussie burst onto the scene back in 2011 when making his NRL debut for the Penrith Panthers before spells with the New Zealand Warriors and St George Illawarra Dragons.

"I played a couple of first-grade games with Adrian Purtell and Etu Uiasele – they are the only two I've played with," said 22-year-old Siejka.

"But the rest of the Aussie boys here I've played against or known who they are coming through in the under-20s and all the junior competitions."
