DANNY Addy enjoyed the highlight of his career during Scotland’s World Cup campaign – now he wants to help the Bravehearts write another famous chapter.

The Bulls star has been included in Scotland’s squad for the upcoming European Championships which will see Steve McCormack’s men face Wales, Ireland and France.

The coveted prize for the winners of the tournament is a place alongside England, Australia and New Zealand in the 2016 Four Nations Series.

Addy, whose reputation soared after helping the Bravehearts to the World Cup quarter-final against New Zealand last autumn, is raring to go after a short end-of-season break.

He said: “It was good to have a break after the year we’ve had and just forget about rugby for a week or so.

“But I’ve been keeping fit to make sure I’m ready for Scotland.

“We had a really good World Cup last year and it was the highlight of my career. We were underdogs in that tournament but I think we shocked a few people.

“Coming up against a team like New Zealand was an amazing experience and I loved it to be honest. It would be fantastic to win this tournament and make the Four Nations in two years’ time.

“It’s definitely not going to be easy because the other teams have got really good squads as well. Just because we had a good World Cup, it’s not going to just happen for us.

“We’ve got to dig in and work hard but I’m sure we will do that and not take the competition lightly. It’s a must-win tournament for us and we’ll certainly be looking to do that.”

Bulls forward Dale Ferguson misses out after an end-of-season operation but Huddersfield skipper Danny Brough has been included.

Addy said: “Danny Brough was Man of Steel last year and he’s a good leader and someone you can learn things from.

“I’m not sure what position I’ll be playing yet – as you know, I can play anywhere.”

Meanwhile, Scotland have recruited Bulls head physio Dan Ramsden for their European Championships campaign while new recruit Dan Fleming was named in Wales’ squad earlier this week.
