LUCAS Walshaw reckons former Wakefield team-mate Harry Siejka will prove a smash-hit at Odsal next season.

Both men will join the Bulls for pre-season training early next month after agreeing two-year deals from the Wildcats.

Walshaw is well qualified to assess the qualities of scrum half Siejka, who this week became the 30th and final member of Jimmy Lowes' squad for 2015.

Siejka has an impressive pedigree, having played for Penrith Panthers, New Zealand Warriors and St George Illawarra Dragons before joining Wakefield earlier this year.

Injuries hampered the Australian's progress at Belle Vue but Walshaw said: "He's only 22 but Harry has played in some big games already during his career.

"He's had a few injuries this year but he's a cracking lad and he's a class player. He's very quick, he controls and demands the ball and has outstanding vision.

"He will certainly bring a lot to the team at Bradford next year and the fact we know each other will help us both to settle in at the Bulls.

"I know Jay Pitts and Adam O'Brien anyway but I also get on well with Harry and it will be good to play with him again next year."

Walshaw feels the diminutive Siejka will complement the skill set of Lee Gaskell, who is being tipped to take the Championship by storm after an impressive debut campaign at Odsal.

The imposing centre or back-rower said: "They are different players but they should combine together well."

Walshaw will join his new team-mates for their first phase of pre-season training on October 7.
