LEE Gaskell tonight spoke his pride after scooping a clean sweep of prizes in the Bulls' end-of-season awards – including the Telegraph & Argus player of the year.

The close-season signing from St Helens enjoyed a fine debut campaign at Odsal, making 21 Super League appearances and scoring five tries.

Gaskell sustained a knee injury during the opening exchanges of the Bulls' win at Wakefield in round two and was reduced to the sidelines for five weeks.

But he returned to make his mark in his favoured stand-off role and at full back before producing some stunning form at the back end of the season.

Gaskell scored a match-winning try against Leeds at Headingley and then claimed a delightful hat-trick at Castleford, before a minor knee problem picked up against Widnes ruled him out of the final-day victory at London Broncos.

The 23-year-old gained the highest score of any Bradford player after averaging 7.45 out of ten in the T&A's individual player match ratings.

He also landed the players' player of the year prize, was the coach's player of the year and also BELONG player of the year, as voted for by supporters.

Gaskell, who is under contract at Odsal for the next two years, said: "I'm absolutely delighted and really proud to have picked up these awards.

"I love it here and am looking forward to playing my part in hopefully getting the club straight back up next season."

Adam O'Brien earned the second-highest average score of 7.2 in the T&A match scores and Tom Olbison was level in third place with Jay Pitts on just over seven.

Retiring club captain Matt Diskin collected the Foundation clubman of the year award for outstanding work in the community.

Adam Brook picked up the under-19s coach's player of the year award, with Nathan Conroy being named under-19s players' player of the year.

Youngster Liam Kirk was a double winner, claiming the BullBuilder rookie of the year accolade and the under-19s most improved player prize.

Brandan Wilkinson, who recently agreed a professional contract with the club – meaning he will be plying his trade with the under-19s next season – was named under-16s player of the year.

Former Championship-winning Bradford Northern head coach Peter Fox was inducted into the club's Hall of Fame by former Rugby Football League chief executive and president David Oxley.

Guests were joined by the entire first-team squad at tonight's event, where they enjoyed a three-course meal and an evening of entertainment, with the nationally-acclaimed Chunky Butt Funky performing live.
