JIMMY Lowes' squad was all but completed after the Bulls unveiled five new signings and a revamped coaching staff last night.

Jay Pitts, Jean-Philippe Baile, Samir Tahraoui, Lucas Walshaw and Paul Clough were announced as the latest recruits at the 'An Evening with the Bulls' event.

That took the number in Lowes' squad for 2015 to 29 and managing director Steve Ferres told supporters he was continuing his search for a scrum half.

Pitts has agreed a new two-year deal, making his move from Hull FC permanent.

Walshaw, Clough and Tahraoui have also agreed two-year contracts, joining from Wakefield, St Helens and Whitehaven respectively.

Baile, meanwhile, arrives from Catalan on a one-year deal with an option of a second season.

As well as announcing the signings, it was confirmed that former Featherstone boss John Bastian has been appointed as the new head of youth.

He will head up the Academy and Scholarship from October, while retiring skipper Matt Diskin takes over the reins as under-19s head coach and will also assist Lowes.

England's strength and conditioning coach Gary Dempsey has been handed the same role at Odsal, although it remains to be seen if Lowes will appoint an assistant first-team coach ahead of next season.

Current head of youth and under-19s coach Richard Tunningley is leaving the club, along with head of strength and conditioning Tom Clough.

Baile, 27, can operate in the centres and in the back row.

Algerian-born Tahraoui, 23 – who has been a stand-out performer for Kingstone Press Championship outfit Whitehaven this year – will be a Bulls player until at least the end of 2016.

The 6ft 6in, 19st 6lb powerhouse has previously enjoyed spells with Swinton Lions, South Wales Scorpions and Australia's Tweed Heads Seagulls.

Walshaw, 22, has previously appeared at second row, loose forward and centre and will prove a key addition, according to Lowes.

Clough, 26, progressed through the ranks at home-town club St Helens but has spent the majority of this season on loan ar Widnes.
