FORMER Bradford Bulls star Karl Pratt was today formally confirmed as the club’s new lottery manager following its hugely successful re-launch last week.

The ex-Great Britain international, who was forced to cruelly retire from the game aged just 25, spent three years at Odsal during the Bulls’ golden era under Brian Noble a decade ago.

Signed from arch-rivals Leeds Rhinos ahead of the famous treble-winning 2003 campaign, Mr Pratt was prominent as Bradford claimed the Super League title, the League Leaders Shield and Challenge Cup.

The 34-year-old played in the 2004 World Club Challenge win over Penrith Panthers before a long-standing shoulder injury forced him to hang up his boots in 2005.

Mr Pratt has taken up a role back at the Bulls to drive 'The Big One', the club's official lottery which was formally reintroduced last week at 'An evening with the Bulls', which attracted more than 1,000 supporters to the Cedar Court Hotel in Bradford.

“I am over the moon to be back at Bradford,” said Mr Pratt, who was once described as one of the brightest young prospects in the game.

“I feel I owe a huge amount to the club. The Bulls helped me realise my dreams, they provided me with a huge opportunity to shine and win trophies.

“Now I want to help give something back. I jumped at the chance to return and am fully committed to helping the club get back to where it belongs.

“The Big One has previously boasted over 16,000 members and it will be successful again.

“The lottery is a huge part of the club's foundations and we are excited about how far it can go towards aiding future success here.

“We are receiving application forms day in and day out and are setting high targets to ensure our numbers continue to rise.

“The response so far has been overwhelming and we are very much on track to meet our short-term goals.”

Mr Pratt is to head up a four-strong team under the tutelage of legendary lottery guru Alf Davies, which includes administration manager Jeanette Stow, collections executive Denise Krelle and sales executive Graham Murphy.
