Bulls’ England Academy prop Liam McAvoy is strongly rumoured to be joining Leeds Rhinos.

The youngster has yet to make a Super League appearance for the Bulls.

He was part of the England Academy squad, captained by Bulls team-mate John Bateman, on their recent tour of Australia, where they lost the two-match Test series 2-0 to the Australian Schoolboys after winning both warm-up games.

Presumably he is good. If so try to keep him with decent contract. If we are unsure, let him go as it is pointless, in the financial situation we are in, taking risks on 'maybe's' . Shame but this is the reality we are in.
If he can match Bateman........give him decent medium term contract.

If I was him, I would have to be mercenary and go. That's a shame.

The difference between him and John Bateman on the Tour, was that the Aussies targetted John, whereas they moaned liked hell about Liam getting stuck in. I'm surprised the Bulls would let him go, He certainly has talent but perhaps asking more than the Bulls think he is worth at present! The new management are being more pragmatic in NOT throwng money at all and sundry. I'm sure Franny would prefer to keep him but a fiscal line has been drawn in the sand and the Rhinos are not known for being spendthrifts, he will have less chance of playing SL next season under Brian Mac.

All down to money with some of you lot and not his own personal development and choice.
He might have seen how the younger players have been treated at the end of last season.

Since the 20S rugby was changed by the RFL many of the clubs have had to let players go

Some unfortunatley will find it very hard to find other clubs due to the sallary cap not all the Championship clubs will be able to pick up these players due to cost

I find it very hard that we as a league who want to train and keep these young players deside to cut the comp down to 19s and under

There is nowhere for the senior fring player to keep up to speed or injured players to start on a come back trail

I would bring the alliance league back with no age limit
