Bradford Bulls’ new owners are expected to unveil the club’s main sponsor for next season later today.
It is believed new owners Omar Khan and honorary chairman Gerry Sutcliffe will announce a big-money deal with money-lending firm Provident Financial Group during a press conference at Odsal Stadium scheduled for 2pm.
Last night, former sports minister Mr Sutcliffe would not confirm the name of the sponsor or the value of the deal, but said it was “significant” news for the future of the club.
“It’s good news and we are looking forward to making the announcement,” he said.
Earlier this week, the Telegraph & Argus reported how another 250 jobs are to be created in Bradford city centre by Provident Financial, which is enjoying faster than expected growth at its Vanquis Bank credit card and savings subsidiary.
The growth will mean that Provident Financial will need to expand outside its new headquarters in Thornton Road and take its city workforce to more than 1,000.
