Bulls coach Francis Cummins believes Ben Evans will benefit from crossing swords with England and France’s finest during the autumn internationals.

Warrington prop Evans, 20, played in both Wales’ recent outings but has yet to make his Super League debut.

That will change next season when he will look to establish himself as a regular in the Bulls’ pack after agreeing a one-year loan deal.

His recent international exertions for Iestyn Harris’s side saw him lock horns with the likes of Adrian Morley, Gareth Hock, Gareth Ellis, Remi Casty and Olivier Elima.

Cummins – who is aiming to sign at least one more prop – said: “Those games for Wales will prove to be a great experience for Ben and he’s a good prospect.

"He’s not the finished article and, as things stand, he’s not going to be our front-line prop. But he is going to bolster the squad and he will get the opportunity to play in Super League.

“How much he plays will be determined by how well he trains in the off-season and how he develops.

“But he can definitely improve our club and by spending time here we can improve him as a player.”

Evans is currently enjoying an end-of-season break following his Wales commitments and will join up with the rest of the Bulls squad next week.

Luke Gale’s ankle injury, meanwhile, is not thought to be as serious as the ligament damage which sidelined him for two months last season.
