Ben Evans has become the latest player to join the Bulls after agreeing a one-year loan deal from Warrington Wolves.

The 20-year-old Wales forward can play in several positions but will be used primarily as a prop next season at Odsal.

Evans, whose twin brother Rhys plays for Warrington and England Knights, has yet to make his Super League debut but featured in both Wales’ recent internationals against France and England.

He is now hoping to establish himself as a first-team regular under new Bulls coach Francis Cummins, whose squad began pre-season training yesterday.

Bridgend-born Evans, who represented England at Academy level, has not joined up with his new team-mates yet as he is currently on a break after his international exertions for Wales.

But he is delighted to have agreed the move to Bradford, where he will become reacquainted with fellow Warrington loanee Matty Blythe and Wales team-mate Elliot Kear.

Evans will travel from Warrington to Bradford with Blythe and said: “When Tony Smith suggested the idea of going out on loan I grabbed it with both hands.

“Like Blythey, I want to be playing every week in Super League and going to Bradford provides the opportunity to try and do that.

“There are a lot of young, enthusiastic boys at Bradford and speaking to Francis, that was the key.

“He was saying that enthusiasm is a massive part of the club and that all the lads are raring to go next year. He told me I could be a part of that and help the team further.

“I know quite a lot of the lads such as Blythey and Elliot, plus I’ve played with and against Adam O’Brien and John Bateman as well. That will make things easier for me again and I can’t wait to get started.”

Cummins, who has seen Bateman, Jarrod Sammut, Luke Gale, Chev Walker and Manase Manuokafoa sign new deals, is delighted that Evans has followed Blythe to Odsal.

The Bulls coach said: “Ben is young and keen to learn and I am really looking forward to having him on board. “He certainly has the ability and attitude to go a long way in the game and I’d like to thank Tony Smith and Warrington Wolves for allowing us to take him for the season.”

Meanwhile, Mick Potter’s wife Megan last night flew home to Australia after ending her stint at Odsal.

Megan was made redundant by administrator Brendan Guilfoyle at the height of the club’s financial crisis but was later reinstated.

A key figure in the Bulls’ administration department and ticket office, Megan stayed on at the club after Mick headed home in mid-September to search for a job Down Under.

He has since been appointed as head coach of NRL outfit Wests Tigers on a two-year deal and Megan, an occupational therapist by profession, will now seek to secure employment in Australia.
