A second-half goal from Eddie Johnson was enough to ensure City gained revenge for their last-minute defeat at Morecambe earlier in the season.

Johnson was restored to his old striking role and he made the most of it by scoring his first goal since September after 54 minutes.

He was on hand to score into an empty net after Barry Conlon's effort was blocked by the goalkeeper following good work by Omar Daley and Joe Colbeck down the left.

City should have been front before then after dominating the first half but Daley missed from a only a yard.

Alex Rhodes and Colbeck had chances to increase the Bantams' lead and Morecambe almost made them pay when Craig Stanley flashed a shot inches wide in injury time.

Yes,result BUT,
Last 15 mins we were under pressure only because we put EJ back into midfield and left Baz up front on his own. Both had done there bit but Baz was
.... .I can understand the manager not risking Billy but why not give Medley a run at visitors
Morecambe. With fresh, quick legs we could have put a bit of pressure in there part of the field and maybe gone on to get the 2nd goal.

I agree about Medley. He has shown potential and we will never know what he is capable of until he plays a few games for the first team. It is not as if we have any strikers who are so outstanding that they should keep him out of the team. So go on Stuart give him a go while the season is winding down for us. He could be a big asset next season.

I think Stuart did intend to put Medley on because he did some serious warming up for about 10mins or so near the end. I suspect the Morecambe pressure convinced him that dropping EJ back was a better option to protect the lead.

All in all an unspectacular win, we looked in total control particularly once Thompson went off, and weren't really that threatened. A promotion season needs to be filled with controlled performances against poor opposition - something we've really lacked this year (Mansfield, D&R, Wrexham et al). Hopefully we've got the hang of it for next season.

On another note, I thought Billy was supposed to be under the knife???

ps Barry was a hero yesterday IMHO, really got in their face and had a great flick on for Rhodes' 1-on-1 miss.
