Honour to lead out team against Morecambe

I never really expected such a big deal to be made of my ten years as a Bradford player.

There had been mentions about it during the week building up to the Morecambe game but it was a real shock about an hour before kick-off when the gaffer said I could lead the team out as captain for the day.

Wethers said it was no problem with him and I'm grateful for that and it was a real honour for me.

I honestly didn't think anyone knew too much about it or was going to make a fuss but Mark Lawn said some nice things about me in the chairman's notes in the programme and it was announced over the loud speaker as we came out.

Then to finish with the win and a clean sheet made the day even more special for me. I really enjoyed it and the result made the day.

Morecambe had scored five the week before against Rotherham but we restricted them to very little.

Scott didn't have much to do, unlike Tuesday night, which shows how different games can be.

It had a bit of an end-of-season feel with people taking a few more chances and the game was very open.

But it was important that we came back with something because that's been the sort of game - against a team below us who we are favourites to beat - where we've come unstuck at times this season.

We finished the game really strongly so hopefully we can take that into the weekend at Brentford. The aim now is to stay unbeaten until the end of the season, which we are capable of doing.

Eddie's gone back to being a striker for the last two games and done really well to get his name on the scoresheet twice. And they were both important goals that won points for us.

I'm not sure which is his best position now or which one he prefers but if he can keep up the ratio of scoring every game then I'm sure he'll stay up front.

I'm sure I don't need to point out the irony in your comment.

Maybe I'm wrong though and it's you that's "write".
