Losing Dava on the back of Nahki’s injury is going to be a big blow for the club.

Dava is a major part of what we’ve been doing. He’s been playing brilliantly and is the main leader at the back for us.

But we’ve got other players who can come into that position and while it’s very disappointing for him, that opens the door for somebody else to grab their chance.

I know Carl McHugh’s away on international duty but he has sat and been patient and was fantastic for us last year. Maybe it’s his time again.

Olly has already proved that he has come back from his injury and he is more than capable of stepping in. So we’ve shown there is cover there, whatever the gaffer decides to do.

As I said before, you know there’s always going to be a spell when you pick injuries up. You just hope they come along in dribs and drabs rather than all at once.

Having big players out at the same time will hit us but that’s why the gaffer has put a strong squad in place. It’s at times like this when you’ve got to dig in and grind and somebody else gets the opportunity to shine.

The team have done well enough now getting that good start under our belts. We’re well respected in this league so whoever comes in is joining a strong, flying team.

We know that Sunday is going to be a test. People might look at it as a definite home win but we’d never think like that.

Football’s a strange old game and it’s never a case of just having to turn up to get the win.

We’re proud of our record at Valley Parade and we want it to be a fortress. But we have to work to do that.

You have to play to the best of your ability to get a result or you get found out. If we play how we know we can, then we’re more than capable of earning the three points.

But if we’re not quite at it, we know Tranmere have got good players who will cause us problems.
