There was always going to come a period when we would lose a key player through injury.

You’re never going to keep the whole squad fully fit so you expect to be without somebody.

Nahki is an important player for us and has scored a lot of goals but I’m sure we have enough in the squad to be able to cope without him.

We showed that last Saturday to come back and get the win over Shrewsbury.

Conceding an early goal was a big blow and then Nahki going off injured was another test. We could have easily thought that it was not going to be our day.

But we’re not like that as a team, we’re prepared to fight to the end and you saw that never-say-die attitude in the way we came back to take the three points.

Yeatesy came on in Nahki’s place and I thought he did really well. He’s been a bit frustrated not being in the side lately and maybe he proved a point to the manager by showing he is worth his place.

We’ve worked on the system for a while with Nahki and James Hanson as the front men and we might have to adapt that slightly now to accommodate someone different.

But I thought the lads did that really well in the Shrewsbury game without being prompted from the sidelines. They took it on themselves to find Yeatesy in little holes, which allowed him to slide people in.

We have got other options up front in the squad and it’s good to have Caleb Folan on board.

His record speaks for itself in England and he wants to get going again after a couple of years abroad. He is working on his fitness but he has looked sharp in training.

Walsall away tomorrow starts a run of playing teams up and around us.

I’m coming across people in football who are already talking about us as a strong team in this league and if we can pick up points from these games, it will secure our place in the top six, which is where we want to be.
