Ricky Ravenhill column: We’ve got plenty to do but reaching the play-offs is still in our own hands.

If we can turn nine or ten of the remaining 14 games into wins then there’s no reasons why we can’t get up there.

That might sound a tall order but, as I keep saying, we should be good enough. Our aim from the start of the season was promotion and that has not changed.

The massive thing is that we have to play nearly all the teams above us and most of them at home. If we can string a couple of back-to-back wins together then it will make a lot of difference.

If there were only five games left and it was nigh on impossible to get into the play-offs then people might take their foot off the gas. But that is not the case right now.

We don’t want the season to just fizzle out. We desperately want to do well in the league so every game will be like a cup final.

Being back at Valley Parade on Wednesday made you realise what a distraction the cup has been. It was always in the back of your mind.

It was great while it lasted for everyone connected with the club. It was a bit out the norm but now we’re back to real life.

The Dagenham game was probably a case of two points lost. People who weren’t there might have looked at them missing a penalty, hitting the bar and scoring first but I still felt we did enough to have won.

Now we’ve got a Yorkshire derby to look forward to. York gave us a good game at our place and deserved the draw.

I know they’ve been on a little sticky run but we’ve seen they can be dangerous on their day.

It’s important we get that win to start building some momentum. At some point, it will all come together for us and we’ll give somebody a good hiding.

Hopefully that will give us the belief to really kick on.
