James Meredith was among the City debutants playing at Notts County
Phil Parkinson handed debuts to six players as City opened their campaign at Notts County in the Capital One Cup.
Stephen Darby, Rory McArdle and James Meredith all lined up in defence and Garry Thompson and Gary Jones in midfield.
There was also a starting spot for Alan Connell up front alongside James Hanson, while Jones was handed the skipper’s armband.
City: Duke, Darby, Oliver, McArdle, Meredith, Thompson, Jones, Atkinson, Reid, Hanson, Connell
