Bradford City sign Doyle

Nathan Doyle has rejoined City on a one-year deal.

The versatile defender or midfielder put pen to paper before this afternoon's Valley Parade friendly against Bury.

Doyle, 25, made 28 appearances for City on loan from Derby during the 2006-2007 season. He was out of contract after being released by Barnsley.

His arrival will boost City's options after they lost skipper Ricky Ravenhill for at least the next three months with a knee injury.

Doyle did not play in the game which the League One side won 3-0. Jon McLaughlin's comic fifth-minute own goal was followed by good finishes from Lenell John-Lewis and Lateef Elford-Alliyu.

Great news. So excited and have high hopes this season. If we cannot get at least into play offs with these players we have no then we never will. Gillingham away cannot come sooner. Personnel pride there as I know some gills fans. Cannot make the game today. Score anyone?

Great player when he was here last time however Parkinson states he hasn't had a pre-season and the photo on the city site he looks to be a bit heavier than before, hope they can get his fitness up

I would question this signing. Why was he released by Barnsley?.Yes in the past he played well for 'City'. But--as " City Down South" has observed; He looks to be overweight. Has not had a pre-season fitness & bonding session. ( Although that would appear to have been fruitless with the 3-0 loss against Bury).
*
Bury are a good league 1 side. Could be in the hunt for promotion this coming season.
*
As Nathan is 25 years old. I agree with 'Tyker'. He could improve during this season, and become part of a younger promotion building squad ------in time!!!

Welcome back Nathan Doyle--your fitness training starts NOW!!!.

Why question this signing??? Barnsley are way above us in league standing. Think you may have forgotten we finished 18th in the basement league. As for not having a pre season/ bonding session does that mean we should not sign any more players till the season ends?? This is a quality signing for city. Well done again pp.

This is our season. A couple more squad players like this to challenge for positions and we are 100% there.

Great signing will fill the midfield position perfectly can slow a game down when needed. He's only 25 so can improve even more. Don't understand why some fans have a problem with him being released by Barnsley he will do a very good job at Bradford City. Working with Gary Jones and Richie will give him more time on the ball he will always have support from them because they have the ability and nous when needed.
