Bradford City: Garry Thompson champing at the bit

Garry Thompson is jumping at the chance to finally get on a football pitch with City tomorrow. Thompson will be among the cluster of new boys making their Bantams bow in the opening friendly at Tadcaster Albion. Former Macclesfield winger Matt Hamshaw could also feature as he looks to earn a contract while on trial. After a fortnight back in pre-season training, Thompson admitted the squad are busting for a game. He said: “Tadcaster cannot come soon enough. Nobody likes pre-season but the boys are looking fit and strong and we can’t wait for the games to start. “I’ve been really impressed with what I’ve seen so far. It’s been tough but you expect that and the set-up is very good. “It’s about making us stronger as a unit. That’s what you’ve got to be. “I think the week in Ireland can only help us because that will bring us all closer together.” Phil Parkinson is looking to give the whole squad a run-out against the Northern Counties East League opponents before they jet off to Dublin 24 hours later. The City chief said: “Everybody’s looking forward to it. We’ll probably have two teams playing 45 minutes each and that sets us up nicely for Ireland. “We’ve been playing football in training and had a full-scale practice match yesterday. We’re starting to build up and having this game will be the next part of that. “It’s important that your bodies are ready for it and we’ll look to play at a good tempo.” Free agent Hamshaw is currently training with City after leaving relegated Macc when his contract expired. The 30-year-old right winger, who can also play central midfield, has plenty of experience with Sheffield Wednesday, Stockport, Mansfield and Notts County and is known for his set-piece expertise. Parkinson is usually coy about trialists but confirmed that Hamshaw was on board. “Matt’s been training with us,” he said. “We’re having a look at a number of players and he is one of them. “It’s possible that some of the trialists might play tomorrow. “It’s a good game for us because we’re up against a local team and we haven’t been there before. “Tadcaster have been very accommodating and trying to make it a good day-out for the supporters as well. “I’m sure the fans will be there in numbers and it’s also a chance for them to see the new signings for the first time.” Parkinson is still pushing to bring another face in before City go on tour but it is looking more likely that any new capture will have to join up with them there. He added: “We are working hard on it. But whether we will have someone for the weekend or not is looking doubtful.”

second i would like to say what a great player you have in allan connell, any other manager would have kept him, he will be a great goal scorer for you this season, he gave us 100% everygame scored vital goals.many town fans classed him as an impact player coming on from the bench but i would have started him every game.
But paolo is on another planet to us, no one knows who he will pick, fall out with, praise,
paolo said he will not cut it this season with us. so he must move on, we have signed collins, and williams who will take us to the next step.
many town fans have had big bets on us @ 11/1 which i have had £150.
and many including myself had £80 @ 22/1 after we lost 5 on the bounce at the start of the season.
third.. i fancy rotherham for div 2, but now hope you are in the mix.
fourth... have a great season and will look out for connell and hope he bangs many in..

Freddy - takes forever to load for me and crashes half of the time. I think it's the video player that causes the main issue but all the ads don't help.
*
I asked the T & A Information Technology Dept. to investigate these problems. The loss of registration is down to my PC being at fault.
*
( I mute the SOUND on that bludy Video programme--it seems to help & appeases my annoying aggravation from its nuisance applications,!!)
*
The Loading Problem is down to a SLOW BROADBAND SPEED from my BT lines where I live. So I am going to ask BT to investigate my Broadband Speed Problem. If it does not improve, I will move to another Service, as I am fed up with these annoying problems from BT. Perhaps I need a new PC, Laptop,Netbook, and I Pad too!!!!.

I have just Spoken to The T&A . There was no 'Comment facility this morning. Also my registration keeps being removed approx. once a Month. Plus I experience a loading delay of at least a minute, on The Bantams Site, to allow ALL the Adverts to appear on the page. Similarly it takes at least another minute+ , to leave the Site to another page or Web. Site.
I wonder if users expreience this delay etc. on 'Internet Explorer ' and 'Google Chrome' Service Providers whe accessing The T & A web Site for The Bantams.

On the Article Topic--" “I think the week in Ireland can only help us because that will bring us all closer together.”
*
Totally agree with the 'Bonding' concept--Although there are still Players to be brought into The Squad.
*
I wonder if " The WAGS " will be allowed to travel with The Squad to Ireland??.( No doubt this observational comment will provoke some comments|).
*
When I lived in Mallorca and Brian Clough brought his Squad for a Break during The Season. Or at the end of The Season. There were a few more Ladies -That were NOT " WAGS " !!!!!!.
*
Dare not say anymore !!!.
