Rory McArdle in action against City while at Rochdale
Rory McArdle has become City’s second summer signing after being handed a two-year deal at Valley Parade.
The Sheffield-born defender was a free agent after his contract at Aberdeen expired and his arrival follows the permanent signing of fellow centre-back Andrew Davies.
McArdle, 25, began his career at Sheffield Wednesday but made his name at Rochdale before moving to Pittodrie two years ago.
He said: "Once I heard about the opportunity to come here, I jumped at the chance."

Just wonder whether as City have gone all out to get him signed up against other clubs, and considering we already have Branston and Williams for now at least, means Oliver may have indicated he is trying to get a club elsewhere

Who in particular seeing as you are making a point of it? Once again what should be heralded is dissected. Badly.

We sign a current international who has just finished in the SPL and we need to sign names 'fans know'!!

Good signing, also heard a rumour from sth yorks that ji has signed a 3yr deal at the mighty bantams, anybody else heard this, I got this from a staunch Wednesdayite

I doubt that tbh , I could name a few players that have come back to vp and not been successful on a return.

Not hearing anything on the signing of contracts yet by oliver and syers in particular is slightly concerning but perhaps they are on holiday. If Oliver signs we are thus much stronger in depth at the back with this signing.
Now for two wide players is we can afford them. One for the right obviously and someone as cover for Reid. Were ge to get injured we are sorely lacking in creation at present.
The fans have shown tremendous support again( at an even higher price). With money saved on the office space and now its sale, plus the pennies from the likes of cleverley and green we may be able to afford both the aforementioned wingers AND an experienced striker? fingers crossed......

More worrying for me is the lack of news about Oliver and Syers:theses would be two key signings his summer, Ramsden can go so far as i am concerned

Probably confirms what I put on here the other day, that Oliver is wanting a move back down sarf.
Or as suggested above 3 solid centre backs and 2 holding centre midfielders makes way for the other 5 to hurt the opposition.
