Phil Parkinson will resist the open loan window because of City’s clean bill of health.

Football League clubs can start borrowing players again from tomorrow when the emergency system restarts for the next six weeks.

But with the Valley Parade sick bay emptying, Parkin-son sees no immediate need for any more short-term replacements.

Simon Ramsden is the only casualty currently out of the equation and the City boss is hoping for good news when the defender presents his broken toe to the specialist again on Thursday.

But Kyel Reid and Luke Oliver are both back in the mix – and would have played against Crawley – and skipper Michael Flynn is also pushing for his first outing since December 16.

Parkinson said: “I’m not looking at the moment because we’re okay. We’re just working hard this week to get the ones who have been injured up to speed.

“Reidy and Olly will have another good physical week and Flynny’s getting closer too.

“It’s good to have a clean slate again, especially if we can get Rammers back soon. We’ve got a lot of games coming up in the next month so we’ll need to use the squad.”

City’s youngsters could be the only loan departures. Darren Stephenson recently joined Stocksbridge PS in the Evo-Stik League and Dominic Rowe is expected to go out on another temporary spell after a previous stint with Barrow.

Dean Overson and Andrew Burns are also being targeted for loan experience.

Parkinson added: “They’re all available to go but I don’t see any others apart from those four. The window is obviously available now in case things change but at present there’s not going to be much happening.”

Meanwhile, the wintry weather was expected to rule out a behind-closed-doors game against Barnsley today.
