Lewis Hunt and Robbie Threlfall have both been told they have no future with City.

Peter Jackson is trying to get the two full backs out of Valley Parade to free up his budget for more signings.

Neither player was in the squad which performed so well in yesterday’s 4-1 loss to Bolton and the City boss confirmed: “We’ve said to them that they can go if they find a club.

“But it’s extremely hard to do that because there are a lot of players out there.

“It’s important that we try to get some out with the budget as tight as it is. We’re looking to maybe bring more in but obviously we’ve got to get them out first.”

Luke Oliver was also missing as he recovers from injury but he is not on the manager’s exit list.

Jackson said: “Luke’s injured at the moment but he doesn’t fall into that bracket.”

HUNT:ALL VERY ODD. Jackson triggered a clause last season to give Hunt another season and now he says he is not wanted for this season. ALL VERY ODD.

Threlfall started well but like many. with contract in hand, seem to fall away and out of favour.

Olliver who was a nightmare last season is still retained probably as back up for the aged Branston and the erratic Williams.

Agree with the above but to be fair I dont think he had a choice in renewing the Hunt deal as we needed players last season as the relegation battle came to a conclusion and playing Hunt for his 'X'th appearance for the club triggered the clause.

But even if these two go and two more come in is it just me or does the squad look a bit threadbare for next season?!

I have heard theat Jacko wants another 4 players and if Hunt and threlfall do leave their wages should allow us to be able to do that as they are classed high earners

I really cannot see who would want these two players so either we get very lucky or we have to live with them on the books just fulfilling their contracts

Well done Jackson....he has recognised Hunt is not of the desired stadndard or that we have better and made the right decision in my opnion.

Others questioned my observations regarding this player but he is not a full-back and is only a steady centre-half at best. I do though hope he improves and can still find a place within football as he moved his family into the area and showed the right attitude.

threfall is a diffrent debate. the lad i feel is inconsistent and his pro's and con's to his game probably explain this. he still has an opportunity to make it as a pro somewhere but due to our smaller squad is having full backs on our list of priorities??

We’re looking to maybe bring more in but obviously we’ve got to get some out firstOn another point am i the only one to have a sneaky feeling that we may be able to give the l**ds lot from down the road a bit of a game considering their striker problems and bates asset stripping. As long as we have a keepr.....We might be on for an upset....fingers crossed....

Serves you right Hunt for holding City to ransom and spitting your dummy out.Well done Jackson for being honest and telling those players that they are no longer needed.Hope the new season goes well and we fans have something to cheer. The chairmen deserve a pat on the back as well. They have had some stick from fans and others would have walked away but they have stuck with us.Security words (rise-upon) should have been rise up.

Don't understand your "Serves you right Hunt for holding City to ransom and spitting your dummy out" comment he still has 12 months to be paid by the club so who's the mug,may be it's Bradford City for triggering that clause that gave him another 12 months if he played X amount of games, yes as some one above has suggested we were sort on numbers towards the end of last season but can't remember Hunt being anywhere near MOM in any of the games he played :-(.

I felt Hunt was too slow. He was left for dead on several occasions by faster opposition players.
Did wonder if it may GEE up these players to improve?.

Must be £2,500 per week for both their basics combined?

I wont weep if the two fullbacks go.
Threlfall catches the eye with his shooting and dead balls but he never impresses with his defending, which is his main job.
Hunt seems to lack the basic skills required at even 4th division level.
We need better if we are aiming for the play-offs.

A good move by Jacko. However, I am slightly bemused by his decision to keep both Oliver and Bully. The other day, Jacko was reportedly still looking for a holding midfielder, thus indicating he doesn't rate Bully to do that role. Is he keeping Bully solely for defensive cover? If so, why is Oliver being retained? Surely we only need one of them?
.
Personally, I would get rid of Bully as I see no role for him next season. I would also tell Osborne to find a new club too. Neither have a future at City.

Hunt moved his house and family up north, e didn't hold the club to ransom he signed a deal, that deal included the trigger clause, again he didn't hold the club to ransom they were the bad guys in this by not wanting to play him so as to avoid the clause.

Not saying I'd keep him but please don't attack someone who actually did do the correct thing by us on a personal level at least, he wasn't the best player we had but he did move his family into the area and so could be understood wanting to earn a new contract at the club.
