Bantams in anxious wait over Syers

City will be keeping their fingers crossed over midfielder David Syers, who hurt his calf in the weekend’s defeat against Port Vale.

With James Hanson, Simon Ramsden and Michael Flynn out, Taylor cannot afford to lose another player to injury ahead of Saturday's visit to Stockport.

Syers signed on a one-year deal the first week into the season after impressing Taylor on trial. He scored his first goal in the Carling Cup win over Nottingham Forest.

Saturday was his first start in the league, although he played the full two hours against Preston in the cup the week before.

Taylor said: “David’s been a massive plus and we’re just hoping he’s got a kick rather than a pull.

“His energy is different class and nothing seems to faze him. David just goes out there and gets on with it.

“He’s been like that since the first day he walked into the building.”

Fingers crossed for one of the only positives of the season so far.

Come on now, there are plenty of positives and the season has just begun. A supporter is suppose to SUPPORT.
So many people love to get the boot in. Give the man and the boys a chance. It's is hard for every one to see the bad results, but we need to keep patient and not dishearten ourselves and others so early in the season. Encouragement works wonders--- all the times.
Please they are not insensitive; get off their backs for God sake.

I don't think there are plenty of positives, but the season is still very early.
Syers has been a breath of fresh air, I really hope for his sake he is not set back for a few weeks or more.
In what way have I had a dig? Cheers.
