Playing at Valley Parade should be a pleasure for City not a chore.
Club legend John Hendrie cannot understand why anyone should be worried about home games.
City host Port Vale on Saturday with Hendrie urging them to “relish” the opportunity of performing on the biggest stage in the division.
Hendrie said: “Players have got to be brave and not have that fear factor. They should relish playing at home.
“I’m a bit surprised with the start. I thought that after finishing last year in a very positive manner, they would take that into this season.
“But nobody has a divine right to be winning games and sometimes it can take a few weeks to get going because of the system, injuries or players catching up fitness.
“I wouldn’t set any alarm bells ringing just yet. You look at the likes of Southampton, who are very much the same as City in their division, already getting rid of their manager, which is absolutely outrageous.
“It is such a long, long season and other teams will still see Bradford as a team capable of doing something.
“But actions speak louder than words.”
City managed only two shots on target in the games with Stevenage and Southend. T&A columnist Hendrie is as mystified as the fans at how the team could suddenly go missing after playing so well in the Carling Cup ties against Nottingham Forest and Preston.
He added: “They gave a really good account of themselves against two Championship sides in the cup but couldn’t take that into the next games. If you can’t take any confidence or belief from that, what will give you confidence?
“The two worst performances have been on the back of their cup exploits. We were awful against Stevenage too.”
As a former manager himself, Hendrie can fully understand Peter Taylor’s frustration over his side’s inconsistency. He believes it is time they put it right this weekend.
“It’s up to the players themselves. The manager can’t do it for them. They’ve got to go out, roll their sleeves up and work damn hard to make things happen.
“It just needs that little spark to get the season up and running.
“They will have had eight days to prepare for this one. Hopefully they can get a good performance under their belt and move on from there.”

I do not macca1969, but I hope your right. I hear most the players do not like playing for Taylor and things are not great in the changing room!! After recent performances and been told that last night from a source I very much trust, I can't see results getting much better very soon. I really do hope I am wrong.

I see us winning this one very comfortably by at least three

And before you ask, no I don't know if it is 100% right either, but what I do know is my source has told me things in the past prior to them happening so I have no reason to disbelief them and yes it has come from the dressing room. . Please don't tell me it's absolute rubbish unless you can back it up, ie you work at the club or you have also been told by a trusted source. My instinct is you think it is rubbish. . Disagree with me by all means it's what the forum is all about. Remeber though I am a fan that wants things to be turned around, not a sh!t stirring Leeds fan. . I whaley hope I am proven wrong but can't see results turning around that quicky. Not when we have a bunch of whimps in the side who are scared of the crowd and the manager!! . Thought I would copy Waynus in breaking up my post (nice one Waynus, why did it tke any of us so long to work that out).fatbloke wrote: I do not macca1969, but I hope your right. .
if i was PT i'd honestly show the knobh**ds in the dressing room the door because lets face it if we have players in there that don't want to play for a respected manager like PT then they don't belong at this club and if PT did that and was open and honest with the fans and told us why, would city fans be happy with that??? i certainly would rather then turning up and watching these so called pro footballers give p!ss poor performances. if this is true they really need to grow up.
.
(i thought i'd copy waynus and fatbloke and do some breakage).
.
we'll still win the league and i actually mean that...lol....i need my head testing

It's no wonder they are scared if they read only 10% of the slagging off they get on various message boards including this one. They are kids playing at the lowest league level/entry level. I've said b4 if i was 22 and starting a new job and saw my name being dragged thru the dirt on every other message board, it'd prob knock my confidence and make me a bit nervous too!!! Thats the difference between a "supporter" and a "fan"...

I'm completely baffled as to how in the space of a few months Peter Taylor has allegedly gone from a top manager who players want to play for, to a ranting bully who has lost the dressing room?! Surely these rumors can't be true??!! I hope not. I've never read anywhere else of this kind of thing from Peter Taylor so I find it hard to believe he could change after being at Valley Parade for a few months. I still maintain he will get things right & we'll be up near the top come the season end & all this negativity will be long forgotten. I really hope I will be right.

In my opinion the majority of our players do not have the intelligence/footbal ling brain to follow Taylor's tactics, it's a 2 way thing and therefore I believe becasue of the players at our disposal we revert to basics . Fingers crossed for Saturday

I don't believe all this about discontent in the camp as Taylor has signed all players that have played under him before. The others have signed long term after playing under him last season. I'm not saying it certainly isn't true more i choose not to believe it.
