Peter Taylor this afternoon completed his first summer transfer business with a treble swoop.
Luke Oliver and Robbie Threlfall, who both played on loan for City last season, have signed permanently on two-year deals.
And Taylor has also picked up 20-year-old rookie goalkeeper Lloyd Saxton from Plymouth as back-up to Jon McLaughlin.
Oliver’s arrival will come as no surprise after Taylor publicly targeted the giant centre half, who can also fill in as an effective striker in emergencies.
Left back Threlfall was Taylor’s first loan signing a week after he took the Valley Parade reins in February and played every game under him.
Full story in tomorrow’s T&A.

Hmm, the best news here is that he's keeping McLaughlin as number one by the sound of things. Threlfall needs to be consistently like he was when he first signed for him to be worth it, not like he was towards the end of the season. Oliver's appeal remains a mystery - a Matt Clarke without the pace. He shouldn't get a look in if Ramsden and Williams stay fit.

Good signings we have some height in the attack from set pieces with Oliver and Hanson and someone who can deliver the free kicks with Threlfall. Not forgetting Bully’s heading ability in the box. I feel another prediction coming from balbrigganfc . We still need a prolific goal scorer, to play along with Hanson someone who will get 20-25 a season, not that easy to find at this level. sec word sure - gain very apt

James is the man for the 20 to 25 goals next season dont spend money on another striker just yet watch him go. Played half a season under Mcalls rubbish then the other half under Taylor what a difference. Goals Goals goals!!!! Ya main sponsor thinks ya can do it any way.

Threlfall isn't the best defensively or the quickest but going forward and his delivery from direct or indirect free kicks causes problems for teams at our level. I am, probably in a minority, a fan of Clarke, a no nonsense centre half even with the occasional mistake. However, Oliver is in the same mould, taller and can fill in up front which probably got him the nod. Don't know anything about the keeper but agree that its pleasing to see that JM will start as No 1. Keep up the good work PT and hopefully in 11 months time we'll have to put up with balbrigganfc reminding us that his promotion prediction was spot on. CTID.
