As a captain he led by example and as a person he was always a true pro. As many have said, he won't just be remembered for his performances on the field, but for what he did in the aftermath of the fire.
Despite everything that's been said about the man by some of the numptys on here the vast majority of City fans appreciate what he has done for the club. Good luck Stuart, we all wish you well for the future.

However, those "numptys" you refer to, didn't rate McCall as a manager, simple as. Doesn't mean they don't appreciate what he has done for the club and the City of Bradford as a whole.

Long live the legend!

It's very easy to say that Stuart did a lot for the club, and many people hark back to the 1999 promotion season and how great he was then. Older fans willl appreciate that Stuart's contribution was to the club, and community, not just the team. In the aftermath of the fire, Stuart was at funeral after funeral, and visited dozens of the injured in hospital at the same time as he was caring for his dad who was severely injured in the fire. all this and he was only 20 years old! He is a city man through and through and he always will be. He deserves every honour that the City and the club and it's fans can give to him. He was a winner, and wil be again, but most importantly, he is one of us! I will never forget the scene a couple of seasons ago when City played Lincoln, and Stuart and Jacko walked out arm in arm to pay their respects. Opposing managers, but friends with a bond that goes back to a very difficult time for our club and our city, where they both, as young men had to grow up very quickly in the midst of disaster. Sometimes football is secondary.

My own personal feelings were of relief when he stood down. The "numpties" I took exception to were the ones who just ranted mindlessly and heaped what was practically personal abuse on the man and his assistant. Usually they did it in capitals to underline that they had a complete lack of understanding of the basics of decency.

Are you even qualified to "rate" football managers? I'm looking forward to how your opinions of PT will change over the coming months when things inevitably go wrong. You do rate PT as a manager don't you; just so that we have clarity going forward.BD16 wrote: Despite everything that's been said about the man by some of the numptys on here the vast majority of City fans appreciate what he has done for the club.
