CHARLIE Wyke reckons teams should be scared of hosting away specialists City.

The Bantams are the only side below the Premier League to have scored in every game this season.

They have also won seven of those ten outings on the road – just all-conquering Manchester City can beat that.

While the Valley Parade form has been up and down, the outstanding record on their travels has established City once again among the play-off pack.

That run faces another test this afternoon at Southend, who have not been beaten in the league at Roots Hall since April.

But the division’s only remaining unbeaten home tag will hold no fears for Wyke.

City’s top scorer said: “It’s nice to go away from home and be so confident. We know that we can take the game to the opposition.

“We played Wigan and Shrewsbury, two of the top teams in the division, and have gone there and taken six points.

“I thought we were the better team at Wigan. We didn’t play so well against Shrewsbury but we showed we can grind a game out.

“It gives you a lot of confidence that you can win in different ways.

“Shrewsbury was a hard shift but it was a fantastic reward for us to get three points against the league leaders. But we’re getting used to it.”

City have scored 19 goals away from Valley Parade, the second-highest tally behind Blackburn. They last fired a league blank at Sheffield United in April.

Wyke's header against Rochdale last week took him into double figures for the current campaign. He also claimed an assist for Tyrell Robinson’s winner – one of four different scorers.

Stuart McCall has praised City’s variety of attacking options and Wyke backs up his manager’s view that they are difficult to plan against.

He added: “I don’t think teams will look forward to playing us at home because we have got threats coming from every area. You can’t just restrict us to one thing.

“You’ve got the strikers and midfielders chipping in and defenders like Tony McMahon and Matt Kilgallon can score. That makes it harder for other teams to defend against.

“It’s a busy period over the next few weeks and we’re going to need everyone. But we’re up there and we’ll see what happens.”
