NICKY Law admits the big-screen reminder of City's agony at Wembley will act as a timely reminder of what is at stake in a crunch week for their promotion push.

This afternoon's clash at second-placed Wigan is followed by tough games against Scunthorpe and leaders Shrewsbury as the season goes up a notch.

It is a significant period for the Bantams, especially after blowing third spot with the shock home loss to Plymouth.

Law was among the players at the 'Matter of Heart' film premiere this week, watching the documentary on the club's first year under owners Edin Rahic and Stefan Rupp.

Seeing their play-off final defeat once more brought it home again how close City had come to going up.

The midfielder said: "I tried to switch off during the summer so I didn't see it.

"But it's difficult, of course. Every time you watch telly, that betting advert is on showing (Steve) Morison miss and then they replay it and he scores.

"It's hard to avoid – and then watching it again the other night in that film just brings back the frustration. It reminds you we were just one game away."

The Bantams hope to become the first visiting side to beat Wigan since they dropped into League One. Law believes the frustration of last week's loss has been put to bed – and the film played its part.

"I think it helps when you get disappointing results like we had because it shows that the season is so long," he said.

"Of course, losing games like the Plymouth one feels terrible at the time. It was a poor result but then you remember how many games you will play and how much it can change.

"One bad result can be put right – it's not like it's a play-off final.

"The picture will be completely different in a month's time but obviously it's tough to take the highs and the lows. You just have to stay on a level ground."

The outlook is likely to change for City over the next eight days, with a string of clashes against teams up there with them among the League One pace-setters.

Law said: "It's funny how the fixtures come out and you're playing first, second and fifth in a row. It's a huge week – but these are games you look forward to.

"Hopefully by next Sunday, we'll be looking back on three positive results against teams in and around us. If you want to be up there, these are the games you've got to take points in.

"The aim will be all nine. Obviously, that will be difficult, but two of them are away from home where we've really achieved so far."

While results have been patchy at Valley Parade, City boast the best travelling record in League One with five wins in eight games. Law admits it suits the team's style to play away.

He said: "The recruitment we've had has brought in quick players and quick players need space. Unfortunately there hasn't been any at home when you're trying to break down defences.

"It's difficult to release players when there's nowhere to run into. Away, we'll have to defend a bit more. But we also know that when we win the ball back, we've got those quick players who can attack in the big open spaces."
