WIGAN’S eight-month unbeaten home run will add an extra incentive for City tomorrow.

That’s the view of midfielder Jake Reeves as the Bantams head over the Pennines for a tasty top-four clash.

The DW Stadium has proved a fortress for Wigan in League One so far – only Portsmouth and Blackburn have avoided defeat.

The Latics’ last loss on home soil was in the Championship when Aston Villa beat them in March.

But with five away wins under their belt already, Reeves believes City can travel with confidence.

He said: “We like playing away from home and seem to do quite well. It should be interesting and their home record is a bit of an incentive for us.

“Playing away doesn’t seem to affect us at all. We just go out there as if we are playing in front of our home fans.

“I don’t see why it should be any different this weekend.

“Wigan have got a massive infrastructure and a lot of money behind them. You look at the squad they’ve got, it’s big and strong and they’re right up there.

“But we’ll go out and try to win the game as we always do.

“It’s not in our nature to sit back. With the way the gaffer sets his team up, we’ll never park the bus.”

A strong response at Wigan would be the perfect pick-me-up after the latest frustrating home defeat against Plymouth – a game that City had dominated.

Reeves added: “It’s part and parcel of football to get games like that and we haven’t really dwelled on it.

“Sometimes you don’t play well but win 2-0 and then you get a game like that. We could have been there for another hour and still not scored.

“But the more good performances you can put in, the more results you will get over a season. It’s important we keep our level high.

“There’s not a better game to bounce back with.”

Timothee Dieng is not ready to return to the squad after his calf injury.
