STUART McCall today set his sights on one more attacking arrival after adding striker Dominic Poleon to his City squad.

Poleon last night became the third summer capture after signing for an undisclosed fee from Wimbledon on a two-year deal.

And as the players reassemble at Woodhouse Grove to kick off pre-season with a morning of fitness testing, McCall is eyeing another new face for his forward line.

The Telegraph & Argus understands that Accrington's Northern Ireland international Shay McCartan is the likely target.

Poleon, 23, comes with a reputation as a quick and powerful frontman who can also play out wide.

“He’s at a good age, has got goals in him and ticks a lot of the boxes that we are after,” said McCall.

“The thing that stands out about him is that he got 13 goals last year at Wimbledon.

“He didn’t play regularly but he got eight in the league, three FA Cup goals and two in the Checkatrade against Swansea under-23s.

“I remember him from Leeds being a right-sider. But I’ve watched a lot of clips of him from when he was at Oldham and he played down the middle.

“Last year for Wimbledon, they played three up front and they alternated between the positions so he played across the line.

“He was only a young lad when he was at Leeds but had a strong season last year, certainly goals-wise.

“I had a good chat with him on Tuesday and he’s one that we think we can help to improve. He’s still developing.”

Poleon is seen as the replacement for Jordy Hiwula, who top-scored for City with 12 goals last term while on loan from Huddersfield.

Having snapped up Paul Taylor last week, McCall insists City need one more forward to cover Billy Clarke's departure to Charlton.

He added: “We’ve still got Charlie Wyke and Alex Jones from last year.

“We’ve added Poleon, who’s similar to Jordy in the fact that he’s quick and can play on the shoulder.

“We’ve got Taylor in who can play wide and up front, which is a bit like Mark Marshall.

“Then we’re hoping to get one more in who fills where Billy Clarke was.

“We’ve lost Hiwula, Marshall and Clarke in the forward areas so we’re looking to replace three for three in that respect.”

Poleon began his career at Elland Road but started only six games. After loan spells with Bury and Sheffield United, he joined Oldham in 2014 before moving to Wimbledon last summer.

He said: "I'd like to say I'm an exciting player that can bring goals to the team and pace up front."
