ROMAIN Vincelot wants magic man Mark Marshall to keep casting his spell on City's play-off opponents.

Marshall is flying high after being named as the club's player of the year earlier this week. Vincelot is backing him to carry that form into next week's push for Wembley and promotion to the Championship.

The Bantams skipper said: "Marshy is what you call a game-changer. You need someone who can produce that bit of magic.

"That's his job and it takes a lot of confidence to do it. He is very confident at the minute – but that's why the forwards earn more money!

"Sometimes it is very hard, especially in modern football and how tight defences are generally. You need some magic to do that.

"It's very useful to have in the team. He's been doing it well lately, so it's brilliant for us, and I'm sure he will carry on.

"He deserves the praise because he has been working hard to achieve a good season and hopefully that will continue to the end."

City have guaranteed a play-off finish but will not know who they face in next week's semi-finals until after Sunday's final league games. As it stands, they will be up against Scunthorpe.

Meanwhile, Stuart McCall has revealed that planning is already well underway for the summer – even though City are not sure what division they will be in.

Chairman Edin Rahic and head of recruitment Greg Abbott are consulting with him over potential targets, which could depend on whether they go up or not.

McCall said: "Greg's been on the case for a couple of months, probably since the last (transfer) window closed. We've been looking at players and clips. Obviously it depends on what division we're going to be in but we've got two lists.

"We'll still be looking to get pre-season prepared and we've probably got two different dates when we will come back, depending on when we finish. Greg and Edin are discussing that.

"There have been discussions going on behind the scenes about all little things. But from my point of view, although I'm involved in them, my focus is on the play-offs and taking it from there."
