STUART McCall will not give a single thought to the prospect of City putting any heat on the second automatic promotion spot.

A win over Oxford at Valley Parade on Friday would cut the gap to four points to Bolton, who do not play until the following lunchtime at Oldham.

Yet McCall insists he is not even considering the chance of pressuring Phil Parkinson's side as he looks to rubber-stamp City's play-off place.

McCall said: "I can say 100 per cent it's not crossed my mind. In relation to Bolton, I'm not thinking about it whatsoever.

"Unfortunately for us this season we've had too many draws when we should have been coming off with wins. Bolton was a case in point.

"But we can't look back. We've got everything to play for still, so it is full steam ahead for Friday and we're just focusing on that.

"We're more interested in our job first and foremost but then we'll look at the teams in and around us."

McCall is happy to have increasing resources going into the final four games that will shape City's season. Nicky Law and Jordy Hiwula both pushed their claims for starting on Good Friday after impressing from the bench against Bury.

The City chief said: "For one spell a couple of weeks ago, we had Lawsy out, (Alex) Jones out and (Alex) Gilliead. He's been a miss as well because he offers something different with a bit of pace out wide.

"But at this moment we have got a few back and it does give you more options. You can vary your outlook in the last part of the game with substitutions and tactical switches.

"When people do come off the bench, everyone's got to know their jobs and what we're asking of them and they are showing that."
