NICKY Law would love another crack at Bolton this season – at Wembley.

The midfielder admits the play-offs now look the most realistic target for City after they were pegged back for an 11th home draw.

Phil Parkinson’s return to Valley Parade on Saturday threatened to turn into a nightmare after Charlie Wyke’s early double put his old club in complete command.

But the Bantams let another lead slip as Bolton twice hit back after the break to grab a point.

Law was gutted to see such a strong winning position disappear but felt the display showed that City still have what it takes to make the play-offs.

And he does not think they have seen the last of Parkinson’s side.

Law said: “No, it is not fanciful to suggest we could play Bolton at Wembley at the end of the season. That is where we want to be.

“The top two is looking difficult now so you have to look to those play-offs although you never know.

“If we can get to Wembley, that is where we want to be and it could be Bolton. If it is then Saturday's performance would only give us confidence.

“You see their physicality and see why they are where they are. A lot of teams would crumble under that but we knew if we stood up to it then we have better football players.

“We were confident that 11 v 11 we had a better team and for 90 per cent of the game I don't think many in the stadium would disagree with that.”

Stuart McCall reckoned City’s first-half performance had been their best of the season. But they paid the price for switching off as they had done at Fleetwood.

But the Bantams boss is remaining bullish about their chances.

“It’s been the story of our season,” he said. “But if anyone thinks I’m going to be doom or gloom, or the players will be, then think again.

“We’ve got 13 games to go and probably need to win seven. But with performances like that, we might win ten – bring it on.”

Wyke has already scored three in two home games since his £250,000 deadline-day move from Carlisle. His recent run stands at an impressive 16 goals in his last 20 appearances for both clubs.

Law, whose lob over Bolton keeper Ben Alnwick set up Wyke’s second, added: “He's been brilliant since he came with his ability and touch.

“He will be a big part of anything we do from now until the end of the season.

“We feel if performances stay as they are then riches can only be around the corner. There are 13 games to play so we try not to get too down.

“We are confident we will get the amount of wins we need from now until the end of the season.

“You could see the passion in the manager after the game and that gives everyone a lift. His confidence in us as players can only keep our spirits up.”

Wyke was close to the third hat-trick of his career with a chance he put just over the bar in the second half.

McCall admitted: “It would have been a nicer tally if he’d got that. We did some finishing in training and Charlie was terrific.

“We’re giving him good service and he’s doing really well. Long may it continue.”
