COLIN Doyle knows what is coming from Bolton at Valley Parade tomorrow.

The City keeper has been focusing his practice sessions on dealing with crosses and long throw-ins in preparation for an aerial test.

Doyle claimed one of his nine clean sheets at the Macron Stadium when he stood up to the pressure in September.

And goalkeeping coach Steve Banks is making sure he is well prepared for another physical examination in the return clash with Phil Parkinson's side.

Doyle said: "We know it's going to be physical like in the game over there.

"There were a lot of long balls, flick-ons and long throws into the box sending their centre halves up. We know what to expect with the three centre halves playing and then any throw-ins, they lump up and try and get bits.

"They'll be looking for knock-downs, a bit like Gillingham did for their (first) goal the other week.

"But we dealt with it well at Bolton and we've got to be switched on, whoever's going up for headers."

Bolton head over the Pennines with back-to-back wins. While City were blowing up at Fleetwood, Wanderers were claiming a scrappy late victory over Rochdale. City number two Kenny Black said: "Bolton are a side with a bit of experience about them and they are up there on merit.

"It doesn't matter what people say about them, they've got the points.

"They've had two or three ropey results, like everybody has in this division, but they will be formidable opponents and it's going to be tense.

"There wasn't a great deal created by either side in the game at Bolton.

"We know they are very strong at set-plays and we've got to be mindful of the fact we don't concede any silly free-kicks.

"They've also got players that can hurt you in general play – but I'd like to think we've got players that they will pinpoint can cause them problems.

"We're all hurting in the dressing room after Fleetwood on Tuesday. It was a game we didn't deserve to lose but we did. But there's no better way to bounce back than this."
