CHARLIE Wyke reckons Fleetwood will not relish facing City tomorrow.

The Bantams head for Highbury for the first of two games against sides above them.

Bolton make the hotly-anticipated trip to Valley Parade on Saturday – by which time Stuart McCall’s men will be aiming to have regained fourth spot by beating Fleetwood.

City’s latest draw at Bristol Rovers, their 15th of the season, kept them a point behind the Cod Army.

New boy Wyke is quickly getting to know the frustrations his team-mates have felt at not winning games they have bossed.

But he insists they can head for the west coast with nothing to fear.

Wyke said: “Fleetwood won’t be looking forward to playing us. Away from home, we still get the ball down and play.

“I know a few lads from there and they are on a good run. But we’re a strong team as well so it should be a good game.

“We’ll take confidence from the Bristol Rovers performance because as a team we played very well. I spoke to one of the Bristol lads and he was saying we’re the best team that’s been there.

“We’ve got two big games coming up but we’re excited by them. There’s no reason why we shouldn’t be after six points.

“If we keep playing like that, the wins will come. You can’t always be unlucky.

“I’m sure we’ll start making our own luck and putting the ball in the net.”

City were denied on numerous occasions after Nicky Law had equalised with his fourth goal of the season. Home keeper Joe Lumley frustrated them with several close-range blocks.

Wyke, who saw one point-blank header denied, added: “You could see Bristol time-wasting in the last ten minutes.

“We’ve got to be a bit more clinical in front of goal. The keeper has made some great saves, although I think they just hit him – one hit him on the backside and he didn’t know anything about it.

“That’s just the way it’s gone and we’ve just got to keep working hard to change it.”

Stuart McCall hopes City can channel any frustration into another big performance against promotion rivals.

“I’m not letting them get down,” he said. “It was only a point again but you can’t sniff at that.

“It would be worse if we were getting battered and under the cosh.

“But we know we’re a match for anyone. The players are doing everything asked of them.

“Let’s not be bogged down that it’s a 15th draw. We know we should have more points but we’ve just got to keep putting in performances like that.”

Josh Cullen remains a doubt for the Highbury clash after tweaking his thigh at the end of Thursday’s training session.

McCall is cautious about rushing him back after seeing Tony McMahon and Billy Clarke suffer further setbacks by returning too early from injuries.

He said: “It’s nothing too serious but Josh may be touch and go for Fleetwood. We’ll have another look today.

“If we have to rest him again, we will do.

“We’ve got to learn our lesson from Tony and Clarkey when they were desperate to be involved.

“If we’d tried to force Josh to play on Saturday he could have been out three or four weeks.”
