MARC McNulty is on the Sheffield United bench at Bury this afternoon – after the Blades took him back from Valley Parade.

Blades boss Chris Wilder activated the recall clause in his season-long loan to City as cover for his squad.

Wilder made his move last night after the leaders lost striker Leon Clarke to injury.

McNulty made 16 appearances for City but only six from the start. He scored just one goal for the club against Southend.

He came off the bench on Saturday – against Bury - and missed two late chances.

McNulty’s departure makes it even more pressing for Stuart McCall to boost his attacking options during the January window.
