HARIS Vuckic is not going to throw his weight around if he is back on the Bradford City bench tomorrow.

The Slovenian scored the first goal of his loan spell from Newcastle in the Checkatrade Trophy win over Bury.

But with Billy Clarke expected to return against Shrewsbury, Vuckic would not be too surprised to find himself among the substitutes again.

And he would have no quibble with that.

Vuckic said: “The team are doing well so why would you change it?

“I just have to keep working hard in training and do my maximum with any chance I get. That’s how you get in the team and that’s what I am here for.

“I know the gaffer believes in me. He tells me every time I get the ball to be positive – try to create chances or score a goal.

“It’s nice when you have that belief from the manager. It gives you confidence.

“When you have a successful spell like I had at Rangers, you always remember the manager well and the belief that Stuart McCall gives me is always positive.”

Vuckic rekindled his partnership with Jordy Hiwula on Tuesday after the pair played together at Wigan in the second half of last season.

Both were on the score-sheet and had an assist for each other.

Vuckic added: “It’s always nice when you are already familiar with the other player. It’s easier to blend in because I know his movements, he knows mine.

“It’s always good when strikers aren’t selfish. If somebody is in a better position, give him the ball to score a goal.

“But it’s nice to have one now because I could have had three goals already.”
