CITY began Stuart McCall’s second reign with a 1-1 draw at Guiseley this afternoon.
A superb finish from outside the box by midfielder Tom Hateley quickly cancelled out Oli Johnson’s second-half opener for the hosts.
Hateley was one of five trialists on display, including George Green hoping to earn a loan move from Burnley and former Oldham defensive midfielder Timothee Dieng.
German goalkeeper Rouven Sattelmaier played the full game and made one good save on to the post from Michael Rankine.
Polish striker Vincent Rabiega looked bright in the opening half hour but then hobbled off with an injury.
Dieng and Reece Webb-Foster had both fired against the bar before the deadlock was broken.
