STUART McCall completed his first bits of transfer business since returning to Valley Parade after securing the services of Nicky Law and Nathan Clarke.

Midfielder Law, who enjoyed two previous loan spells at the club in 2007 and 2008, has signed a two-year deal on a free transfer after leaving Rangers.

He played under McCall at City, Motherwell and at Ibrox, with his move to West Yorkshire reuniting him with McCall once more.

Defender Clarke was out of contract and has committed his future to the Bantams on a new one-year deal.

The 28-year-old Law said: "I've always said that no-one believes in me more than Stuart.

"His belief in me is huge and that gives me great confidence.

"He's always seemed to get the best out of me, especially in my previous spells at Bradford and my two years at Motherwell.

"If I could hand-pick one manager to work under, it would be Stuart.

"To come back to a club where I thoroughly enjoyed my time before as well, I don't think I could ask for a better move."

McCall is delighted to have signed a player he trusts greatly and who helped Rangers to return to the Scottish top flight last season.

McCall added: "I know Nicky inside out both as a player and as a person. I've managed to get the best out of him in the past and that's what I'll be aiming to do again.

"I want him to get back to what he's good at, and that's getting forward from the middle of the park or a wide area and scoring and creating goals.

"He's at a good age. He's coming up to his prime and he is hungry for more success after a good spell in Scotland. He's desperate to do well here."

Law’s father Nick managed City between 2002 and 2003 and the midfielder fondly recalled: "I first came here (Valley Parade) when I was ten years-old and my dad used to bring me and my brother.

"When I was being shown around earlier before signing, I could see some of the areas where me and Josh used to run around and cause mayhem as young kids!

"This club has been a part of me since then and I suppose I always hoped I would come back again after two successful spells here before.

"The club is in a lot better position than it was when I was here before. Everyone you speak to at the club is excited by the prospect of the season ahead.

"There is a real buzz about the place and I'm delighted to be a part of it now."

Clarke, meanwhile, is delighted to secure his future at Valley Parade on a one-year deal.

The 32-year-old central defender, who made 31 appearances for City last season, said: "I'm glad to get the contract signed. It was always a simple decision for me to stay with Bradford.

"We did well as a defence last season and it is something we'll be looking to carry on into next season.

"I'll be the same as everyone else come pre-season, eager to impress the new manager from day one.

"I want to be up at the front and in the manager's thoughts as much as I can be.

"The aim is to hit the ground running this year. I got off to a slow start last year but I felt I picked up from Christmas onwards really and did quite well in most of the games.

"I'll be looking to get out there (on the pitch) as much as I can and hopefully contributing to a fantastic season."

Meanwhile, the Bantams' home fixture with Oxford has been brought forward a day to April 14 and the Good Friday showdown will kick off at 3pm.
