PHIL Parkinson has revealed that Shrewsbury star Sullay Kaikai had been on City's radar.

The on-loan Crystal Palace winger has been in outstanding form for the League One strugglers. He pipped Nathan Clarke last week to the League One player of the month award for March.

Ahead of Saturday's trip to Shropshire, Parkinson confirmed that Kaikai was on his list of potential targets.

He said: “He’s a player we looked at in the summer. But because we’d had wide players in the building we couldn’t guarantee he would come up here and get games.

“They (Palace) were keen for him to go somewhere and play.

“We know he’s a talented player and we’ll be working on our strategy to stop him.”

Shrewsbury defender Zak Whitbread also had a trial with the Bantams at the start of the season.
