KYEL Reid’s short-term return to City has been welcomed by boss Phil Parkinson.

As revealed by the Telegraph & Argus, the former Bantams winger is on his way back from Preston.

The 27-year-old, who played 110 times in three years with City, joins on an initial one-month loan and is likely to feature at Rochdale tomorrow.

Parkinson said: “Kyel’s an exciting player. He gets the crowd off their seats and he’s a bubbly character as well.

“With Josh (Morris) being out a little bit longer than we expected, we thought Kyel would be a good addition.

“He knows what we’re all about, the fans know him and understand his strengths and will get right behind him.

“He had some terrific games for us, was unlucky with his injuries, but when he played you always felt he could put defences under pressure.”

Reid said: "It's good to be back. It feels like I've never been away."
