STEVEN Davies scored twice as City's reserves eased to a 4-0 win at Morecambe in Group A of the Final Third Development League Cup.

Nathan Clarke and Luke James were also on target as the Bantams gave a number of first-team squad members valuable game time.

Billy Knott, Tony McMahon and Chris Routis also started the match at the Globe Arena.

Davies and Knott were substituted midway through the second period but Clarke, McMahon, James and Routis were given the whole match.

Fellow professionals Sam Wright, Dylan Mottley-Henry, Greg Leigh and Joe Cracknell also started the fixture.

The Bantams enjoyed a two-goal interval lead thanks to Clarke and Davies, before another Davies strike soon after the restart and a late effort by James wrapped up a convincing victory.

The match was City's second at Morecambe in successive Tuesdays after a youthful XI had drawn 1-1 with the Shrimps in the league the previous week.
